Tender Greetings

Quickly streets are full
Every mouth gloating smiles
Tender greetings
Parceling kindness
Each their due
Where soup kitchens overflow with minestrone
And basted turkey too
Hundred more beds for winter
Beggars count their take ahead of schedule
Office parties bringing down all decency
Where the riot with the oysters
Will serve well all-next year
Children alas meeting Santa Claus
A photo justly records the fantasy
And candy canes for all to walk
Down the lighted avenues
Where houses adorn the gardens for a twixt
Chimneys puffing on dry logs
Chestnuts and marshmallow gold
Wake up early
For the ghost of Christmas sale
